Whales, Seals & Cousins

It's been crazy hot here in San Diego and we have been doing everything to beat the heat. We are in the pool everyday and making good use of our fans. Last Friday we braved the heat and headed out to Sea World to spend a day with Maya and Sahara's cousins.

Here's a great shot of the crew. From left: Nader, Milani, Dominic, Polar Bear, Sahara, Maya and Christopher. The only one missing is baby Gianna.

Here she is....

Highlights from our day include feeding the bat rays. These creatures feel like slippery rubber. Pretty weird. They eat fish right out of your hand.

Maya and Sahara were fascinated by the bat rays. They even held out a fish to feed them.

Here's a whole bunch of them coming in for some fish.

Another shot of the twins in action.

We got to see Shamu and friends at the Believe show. The girls kept on telling me that they were Shamu as they swam around the pool later that day. Pretty cute.

Here's the Elmo flying fish ride in the newly opened Sesame Street themed play area. Sahara begged to go on this ride the past couple of visits to Sea World, so we finally took her. Once the ride started she freaked out and tucked herself into her father as far as she could. So you can't see her in this picture, but she is hiding next to her daddy. Maya on the other hand kept on hitting the control lever to go up and down in the air.

Here's Sahara checking out the turtles. The girls can't get enough of turtles.

Other highlights from our day that I didn't get photos of were the star fish touch and feel exhibit, the feeding of the seals and the aquarium exhibits that were full of color and over sized fish.

We had a really fun day and the girls slept the whole ride home.

Coming soon....Maya and Sahara swimming like fish.

OOO, I can't wait to see fishy girls! I have not been to sea world in a LONG time, I was probably in elementary school! They have rides now?!? Crazy! They only had fish and shamu, and a cool rope ladder area for kids "back then ago" as Riley would say! :)
