Pumpkin Patch

We took the girls to a pumpkin patch in Temecula and it was the best one we had ever been to. I went a little crazy on the picture so indulge me.
Here are my sweet pumpkins sitting on pumpkins.
Here's Sahara checking out all the pumpkins.
Then the girls started carrying the pumpkins.
They kept on moving them from place to place. Pretty cute and a lot of hard work.
The girls love to ride ponies so they went twice on the pony merry go round.
Another shot of my cowgirl.
Here's Sahara riding with no hands.
Sahara is getting really brave here.
Here's Dominic and Sahara riding a tractor.

Family shot at the pumpkin patch.

They had a pig race that got everyone cheering and screaming. Too funny.

Group shot of cousins. They are standing in
front of the corn maze that was so big, we all got lost and a little scared we wouldn't make it out.
Maya and Sahara hand in hand with their cousin Dominic.

Here are the girls in the petting zoo area. They had ducks, rabbits, goats, a turkey, a turtle, a goose and chickens.

Here's the turkey. He will eat right out of your hand but he pecks hard.

Sahara could not keep away from the goose.

A close up of Sahara feeding a goat.

The goat behind Sahara in this picture had four horns. Crazy !

More of Sahara and the goose.

A few shots of the girls with assorted pumpkins and squash.

Sahara decided to smell the corn.

Maya wanted to touch all the little pumpkins.

She found the one she wanted.

Here's a cute picture of Maya. Too bad the sun was in her eyes.

Stay posted for pictures of pumpkins we grew in our garden.

Fun with Family and Friends

We have been keeping things mellow these past few weeks. The weather went from freezing to really dry and hot. Weird. Our schedule during the weeks goes something like this... Music and Movement at the Early Learning Center on Mondays, Gymnastics on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday are open and changes from week to week depending on the weather and my energy level, Fridays we go to the library. We try to take Bella for a walk every afternoon and while on our walk Maya and Sahara feed our neighbor's horse some carrots. I should also mention that we have found another neighbor not too far away that has cows and donkeys that we like to feed carrots to at least three times a week.
Here's a cool shot of all the cousins together for a music and movement class at the Early Learning Center. From left: Maya, Gianna, Christine, Milani, Dominic, Brian and Sahara.

Play date with Aaron, Levi and their mom, Cynthia. The girls had a ton of fun playing "olympics" with Cynthia.

The other day the Early Learning Center had a fire truck demonstration. The girls got to make hats and got to see some firemen in action.

Here they are putting out a fire. It was really a cone they pretended to be a fire.

Sahara was too busy pulling my pins out of my hair to pose for this picture.

Here's a good shot of Maya with her hat on.

Animal Encounters

Long time no see...due to some technical difficulties we have been unable to blog. A new laptop later and we are now able to share Maya and Sahara's smiling faces again.

Maya is imitating a polar bear in an arctic cave at Sea World.

Sahara is checking out a polar bear. Can you see him just to the left of her?

They look like ants posing next to the Clydesdale horse.

Nader made Paella the other night. Check out this masterpiece.

Here's some Protea's from our property.

From left: Maya, Milani and Dominic. Cousins hanging together.

Maya feeding a guinea pig. Look how happy she is. As for the guinea pig, I can't tell if he is smiling at all of this.

Here's Sahara trying to comfort her guinea pig. She was whispering, "shhh, shhhh, shhh...it's okay."

Both of the girls trying to ride the horse.

Although I think they enjoyed the real ones more.

Check out Maya's huge smile.

Here's a close up...

As you have probably guessed, the girls like to feed animals. It doesn't matter if it's the neighbor's horse, the donkeys down the street or the ducks at a nearby pond. On this occasion the girls started feeding a few ducks and before you knew it, it became a mob of ducks. We felt like we fed every duck in Temecula that day.

Smiles like these are priceless.

Lunch with Friends

Here's an adorable picture of Maya having lunch with her friends. Before she sat all her toys in a circle she spent a good deal of time warming up food (beans) in the oven (her play oven). She carefully removed the plates of food with oven mitts and announced to all of us that the food was "too hot" and "wait blow off" which translated means wait to cool off, blow it. She was so proud that she cooked the food for her friends then carefully placed it in front of each of them. She had the biggest grin on her face.
Some other totally adorable things about Maya include the fact that she is an extremely loud eater, which is like nails on the chalk board for mommy, but somehow it's adorable when Maya does it. Also, Maya does not like to be dirty in the least bit. So you can always find her wiping her hands, washing her hands or changing dirty clothes. This actually works out great because she almost never has potty accidents.

La Jolla Shores

We took the girls to La Jolla shores the other day to see the seals while Nader visited a job site nearby. Here are a few pictures of our day.

Grandma Rose met us there to visit with Maya and Sahara.

Del Mar Races

The last weekend our friend Stacy invited us to the Del Mar races. We had never been to the races before and since Sahara is really into horses, it was really a very exciting day.

The in-field had loads of bouncy houses and ponies to ride. That's where we spend the better part of the day.

Here's a few random shots of my cuties.
Sahara tucked away in daddy's shirt.

Here's a picture of Maya, Lauren and Sahara right before they jumped into the pool.
